Review About Globe Pequot Press

While i love my department and direct boss, the company as a whole is difficult to work for. HR does not look out for employees, I've heard horror stories of the HR manager screaming in peoples faces. I've had my own issues with HR, where I had to point out company policy in the handbook in order to be paid for some missed days due to a power outage. Upper management has no sympathy for real life events and handled the transition during Covid very poorly. All very difficult to deal with while getting absolute bare minimum compensation for a job that requires a degree and experience.

Globe used to be a great place to work before it was acquired by Rowman & Littlefield. Many layoffs and culture changed as did the business direction.

Manager of Operations/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Springfield, TN - June 13, 2018

Globe was a wonderful company to work at. I learned something new almost everyday and was surrounded by good knowledgeable co-workers. The hardness part about this job was saying goodbye to my co-workers when the company was sold and re-located.

Freelance Digital Production Assistant (Former Employee) - Guilford, CT - December 23, 2014

Great company culture. Mostly nice people. Quiet atmosphere. Mostly production-oriented work. No job security in freelance work. Fun activities. Compensation could have been better. Entry-level even with experience.
