After giving up local, print papers, i moved to Newport News and decided to try the Daily Press. This has changed my view of local newspapers.
I appreciate learning what is happening in Hampton Roads, upcoming events, and local history. The writing is professional and the editing is excellent.
So incredibly disgusted that our "local" paper out sources their customer service! I ended up canceling due to this. Hey Daily Press- hire local!
The billing department here is terrible. First good luck finding anyone who can halfway speak English. Then they are incredibly rude. The DP is constantly sending me offers to come back, through email and snail mail. When I tried to sign-up for one of these offers, it worked for a few days and then they randomly canceled me. Now I'm playing the game of trying to get my money back. Maybe it will dawn on the DP workers that customer service is paramount in a world where most news is free.
The customer service phone representatives do not speak or understand English well. I had to call four different times to cancel my digital subscription. The first two representatives were rude
