Juan Pablo Escobar

When he was young, Escobar grew up in a world of privilege. He had a private zoo, a mansion in the hills near Medellin, and a fleet of private planes to deliver drugs. He was also able to kill anyone he wanted.
While he had no formal education, Escobar had many aspired to reach power and wealth. He hoped to one day become President of Colombia, and had dreams of building schools for the poor.
In spite of his rapacious lifestyle, he had a surprisingly gentle side to him, according to his wife Henao Vallejo Escobar. She claims that he was an affectionate man when they first met.
They had two children together, and Henao says that she loved him very much. She tried to keep their family intact, but was unable to resist the temptation to leave him when he started behaving badly.
Then, in 1990, Henao decided to stay with her husband despite his shady activities, saying that she felt that their children were safer with him than without him. They eventually requested government protection, but the family was placed in a hotel in Bogota that was secretly bugged.
