Watchdog Advisory - Hendrick-Long Publishing

In this week's Watchdog Advisory, John Doppler looks at a company that appears to be in the death spiral that often afflicts small presses. Waldorf Publishing has recently been trying to extract more money and additional legal concessions from its authors, including a tacked-on clause asserting that "any willful slander against Waldorf Publishing" will be punished by the publisher seizing all rights to the author's books.

Hendrick-Long Publishing

Hendrick-Long Publishing has been in business since 1969 and boasts a whopping 60+ titles on their shelves. Their biggest seller is the Texas sized version of their flagship title, a slew of slick looking volumes in their newest iteration, a smattering of paperbacks adorning their fanciest of the fab four display cases, and a whopping nine Kindle editions in the works. For a family-owned company that is in business for so long the quality of their products speaks to their high standards. Hendrick-Long has the slickest distribution and fulfillment operations in town, and with a staff of over 50 in the Houston office alone this family of feisty ladies have mastered their responsibilities with style and panache. Hendrick-Long is the ota fem of the area and has a strong customer base in the surrounding suburbs and beyond.

Hendrick-Long Publications

Hendrick-Long Publications is a publishing company based in Houston, TX. They are a subsidiary of Hendrick-Long LLC, a private investment group. Hendrick-Long is a publisher of fiction, nonfiction and children's books. They publish both print and ebook versions of their titles. Hendrick-Long has been in business since 1969.

Hendricks has written over 20 novels, including a series of thrillers about crime, mystery, and suspense. She is also the author of many children's books. Her latest book is The Wife Between Us, which she co-authored with her partner, Peter Pekkanen.

She has also written plays and short stories. She is a member of the American Society of Playwrights and has been published in several journals.

One of Hendricks' greatest strengths is her ability to create characters and situations that are unique. She uses her knowledge of psychology, storytelling, and writing to develop realistic yet engaging characters. She has also developed a process for writing her books that ensures she is on the same page with her partner, which is essential in creating an effective storyline.

The process starts when Hendricks calls her partner every weekday, and they talk through each scene of the novel. They then begin typing together. They do this for hours, day after day, until they have completed a full draft.

They have two other works in progress, one of which will be a book about postwar American women and the other is a light-hearted adventure with the working title America's Haunted History: True Stories of the Country's Spookiest Places. Both are set for publication in 2020.

Hendrick-Long is a great publisher for authors who want to sell their work in the US, and are looking for a professional publisher who can help them get their work into print. They have excellent marketing and promotional tools, as well as a good track record in the publishing industry. They are a reliable publisher and always strive to offer high quality products.
