Industrial Hydraulic Maintenance Tips & Tricks

Hey folks, I’ve been working on this old hydraulic press at our shop, and lately it’s been acting up with slow movements. I tried topping off the oil, but it doesn’t seem to help much. Anyone here dealt with similar sluggish responses? I’m wondering if it’s a filter issue or maybe something more hidden like a worn pump. Any hands-on tips would be great because I really don’t want to replace the whole system if I can avoid it.

I had a similar problem a while back with one of our injection molding machines. Turns out the culprit was partially clogged hydraulic filters causing reduced flow. Once I swapped them out, the system sprang back to life. I also learned that keeping an eye on fluid quality is huge—dirty oil can mess with everything. If you want some extra guidance, this https://hydro-funk.com/ helped me figure out a couple of tricky maintenance tricks without tearing the machine apart.
