Should government or community programs partially or fully subsidize moves for seniors who want to downsize or relocate?

Hey everyone, my aunt is in her late 70s and wants to move into a smaller place closer to family. She’s worried about the cost and logistics of moving, especially with all her stuff and fragile items. Do you think there should be programs that help seniors cover part of the moving expenses? It seems like it would make a huge difference for people trying to simplify their lives without breaking the bank.

I’ve helped my grandmother move recently, and honestly, having access to something like professional senior moving services would have been a lifesaver. The movers she used were great, but even then it got stressful coordinating dates and packing. If there were programs that subsidized moves, it would let seniors focus more on adjusting emotionally rather than worrying about costs and logistics. It seems like a really practical idea.
