How to Become a Successful Kindlepreneur

Kindlepreneur is an educational website that helps authors with self-publishing and book marketing. It features a variety of videos and is a resource for authors at every stage.

Dave Chesson, Kindlepreneur’s founder, shares his insights on monetizing your book through Amazon affiliate marketing. He also offers a free bonus training course, Mastering Kindle Keywords.

Keywords

If you want to be a successful Kindlepreneur, you must know how to identify keywords that will get your book in front of the right people. The best place to start is by doing research in your niche and creating a list of terms that are relevant to your book’s topic, genre, theme, or what it offers readers.

Once you’ve compiled a list of keywords, it’s time to start testing them. Use a free tool like Google Keyword Planner to see which keywords have the potential for high search volumes and conversions.

One of the key benefits of using this tool is that it can show you how many searches each keyword has received in the past and how competitive they are. This can help you determine which keyword phrases are worth pursuing and which ones are better left alone.

Another great benefit of this tool is that it can also provide you with ideas for new keywords to add to your list. This can help you avoid spending too much time on the wrong keywords and get more books out of your efforts.

To use this tool, you simply go to the Kindle Store on Amazon, type in your keyword phrase and click “Suggest.” Then Amazon will present you with suggestions of other words that have been used by real shoppers in their searches. If any of these fit your book’s topic and have the potential to be a good match, save them in a spreadsheet.

The next step in this process is to run each of the suggested keywords through a free tool called the Kindle Best Seller Rank (ABSR) Calculator. This will allow you to see how competitive the word is and will give you an idea of how many shoppers are searching for that keyword every day.

When you’re done, you’ll be able to see which of the keywords that you’ve found are most profitable and can help you sell more books. You can then put these keywords in your Kindle book’s title, description, and subtitle to attract the most buyers and make the most money.

Kindle Select

Kindle Select is an option available to authors and publishers who choose to grant Amazon exclusive sales rights for 90 days from their book's launch. In return, Amazon will give you a higher percentage of sales and additional promotional tools, such as access to Kindle Unlimited.

The first pro of Kindle Select is that it's an easy way to get your book in front of thousands of readers each month. It also lets you earn payments from a fund called the KDP Select Global Fund, which is set aside by Amazon to pay authors for books borrowed by members of Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owners Lending Library (KOLL).

In this program, your ebook can be borrowed by KU users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, India, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada. You'll get paid per page your book is read.

Another big pro of Kindle Select is that you can use a Kindle Countdown Deal to discount your book for a limited time, up to 7 days, to reach new readers. The only downside is that you need to schedule your promotion well in advance, and Amazon may take a while to price match.

However, if you're a self-published author looking to expand your readership, the pros of Kindle Select outweigh the cons for most indie authors. Plus, the 90-day exclusivity period means you'll have more time to build your audience and develop a strategy for selling your books.

Amazon Author Central Page

Author Central pages are a great way for authors to build a presence on Amazon and connect with their fans. It’s also a convenient place to keep track of reviews and sales data.

The first step to getting started is creating an account. This will create a personalized page for you where you can showcase your books and personal information. You’ll also be able to upload photos and videos.

To get started, head over to the Amazon website and click on the Author Central link. Then, select the country where you want to set up a profile. This is important because some countries will not have the same features available as other countries.

Once you’ve created an account, make sure that you’re using the correct email address and password. Then, you can start updating your biography and adding more books.

Another important part of setting up your Author Central page is incorporating keywords. This will help you and other authors in similar genres rank higher in search engines. It can also help your readers find you when they are looking for specific topics, such as mystery, romance, or historical fiction.

If you’re a multi-author, it’s important to include all of your books in your Author Central page. This can be a bit difficult to manage if you have multiple titles or pen names, but it’s worth it for the sake of having a comprehensive Amazon page.

When you’re ready to add your books, visit the books tab on your Amazon Author Central page and choose Add more books. This will allow you to add all of your titles, whether they’re in ebook, print, or audio format.

You should also update your title, ISBN, and a few other pieces of information to ensure that your Author Central page is as complete as possible. This will help you stand out in the crowded author community and encourage more people to buy your books.

Finally, you can also add links to your books, including audiobooks and eBooks. This will allow your readers to easily find other books in your series, as well as your latest works.

Print Books

When publishing a Kindle book, there are a few things that you need to take into account. One of the most important is what kind of book you want to make. There are many options, and each one has its advantages and disadvantages.

There are also different formats for eBooks, which is why it’s a good idea to know what type of file is most compatible with Amazon’s platform. EPUB is the recommended format, but there are other options as well.

The other thing you need to think about when choosing a print size is the type of book you’re selling. There are some books that require a larger print size, like a children’s book or a photography book. These are often more expensive to produce, but they may be better for your market.

For other kinds of books, a smaller trim size can be more convenient for readers. For example, people who are in a car, or on a bus, might enjoy reading the book while moving around.

If you’re printing a paperback version of your Kindle book, then it is important to choose a high-quality paper that will hold up to wear and tear. If you don’t do this, your Kindle book might be damaged and it will be difficult to sell.

Similarly, if you’re printing an ebook, it is also important to choose a high-quality eBook format. You can choose from ePub, PDF, or Kindle Create files (which are supported by both KDP and IngramSpark).

Before publishing your Kindle book, it’s also important to choose a cover that will look good on the screen of a Kindle device. There are many free and paid Kindle book cover designs that you can download to your computer. You can use these to design a book cover that’s perfect for your genre and your audience.

Another important step is to choose the correct font. For Kindle books, you should stick with 12-point font and Times New Roman or Arial. Having these fonts makes it easier for your Kindle readers to read and navigate your book. They will also help your book appear more professional and polished.
