Reveal Press is a Division of New Harbinger Publications

When psychologist Matthew McKay and writer Patrick Fanning founded New Harbinger Publications in 1973, they were dedicated to publishing self-help books that offer real help. They've since made that promise a reality, helping people find enlightenment and enduring change with their books.

They publish psychological workbooks, professional books and memoirs based on research, science and clinical practice. They also focus on global issues, consciousness and spirituality.

Impact Publishing

New Harbinger Publications has been publishing books on mental health, anger management, relationships, and wellness for over forty years. With a mission to offer real tools for real change, the company has grown into one of the leading publishers of evidence-based self-help books and workbooks.

The company publishes both fiction and nonfiction, in a variety of categories including self-help and psychology, health and wellness, spirituality, inspiration, women’s and men’s issues, relationships, family, teens and children, and memoirs. Their titles are grounded in science, careful research and a tradition of empirically validated clinical practice.

In 2015, New Harbinger acquired the publishing assets of Impact Publishers, a publisher that has specialized in self-help and professional psychology books for decades. Founded by psychologists Robert E. Alberti and Michael L. Emmons, Impact is known for its motto, "Psychology you can use, from professionals you can trust."

McKay said the two companies share a similar mission and have aligned their selections of books to fit that mission. In addition to bestselling books such as Anger Management for Everyone and Rebuilding, Impact has published the works of many distinguished authors, including Albert Ellis, founder of rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT).

Another imprint within New Harbinger is Non-Duality Press. It publishes literature on the contemporary spiritual philosophy of non-duality, which has become a worldwide movement.

With a wide range of titles, Non-Duality Press has a number of bestsellers, including The Direct Path by Greg Goode and Awake in the Heartland by Joan Tollifson. It also has a growing list of newly acquired titles, which will be published within the imprint starting in November.

A third imprint is Anthem Impact, which publishes scholarly and scientific reference books at significantly shorter lengths than traditional publishing models allow. These titles are expertly written by recognized authorities and regularly updated.

Aside from the acquisitions of Instant Help Books, Context Press and Impact Publishers, New Harbinger has a number of other notable acquisitions, including Amberjack Publishing, which publishes books in the areas of self-help and psychology, spirituality, inspiration, women’s issues, relationships, and family. It has a strong presence in both print and digital formats.

In addition to their self-help titles, the company also offers a range of books that focus on global issues, consciousness, and spiritual wellness. This includes a co-publishing agreement with the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS).

It was this mission that led to the company’s acquisition of Instant Help Books in 2008, which published workbooks that were designed to help children and adults deal with depression, anxiety, anger and other emotional issues. These books are available as print and e-books.

This publisher’s titles are aimed at a wide audience and use a number of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. This helps them reach the many people who are in need of help.

The company also owns several imprints, including Context Press, Impact Publishers, and Non-Duality Press. These imprints publish books on topics such as non-duality, the contemporary philosophy of non-dogmatic spirituality, and psychology of acceptance and commitment therapy. These books are aimed at scholars and researchers as well as mental health clinicians.
